After a defensive mix-up in River Maniaca's zone, Edgardo Balesio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Omar Maxin came out of the goal and Edgardo Balesio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Silvio Cordarrol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Colola AFC booed when River Maniaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Socorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Silvio Cordarrol managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colola AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Cordarrol was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Colola AFC's Hernan Urtsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Playo in the 65th minute of play. After 73 minutes, Efrain Socorro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the River Maniaca and the Colola AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Colola AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Colola AFC's Eduardo Caradaro got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
