The supporters of Campos booed when Álzaga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingos Mercurio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Campos's Fulgencio Llorienzo managed to work through Álzaga's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Fulgencio Llorienzo dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Victor Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victor Diaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 23 minutes, Amancio Petrigai managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Álzaga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amancio Petrigai was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Álzaga's Amancio Petrigai got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Esteve Rafe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Victor Diaz went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Victor Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 32 played minutes Álzaga got a freekick which was hit by Americo Claude. The long shot by Eustacio Petri in the 33rd minute really tested Modesto Cerilo's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Romulo Aritza fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Campos's protests and gave Romulo Aritza a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Domingos Mercurio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Campos's Esteve Rafe didn't even have to move. With his leg Modesto Cerilo managed to avoid a goal in the 39thth minute, when Campos's Carolo Maidana fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 41st play minutes Fulgencio Llorienzo shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Modesto Cerilo and just under the crossbar into goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fulgencio Llorienzo was the one to do the kick off. Everardo Laurgain's late challenge caught a Álzaga's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Everardo Laurgain helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Campos getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Everardo Laurgain hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Carolo Maidana ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Modesto Cerilo was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Campos's Everardo Laurgain got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Everardo Laurgain off the ground. Everardo Laurgain kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Amancio Petrigai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Maidana in the 66th minute of play forced Álzaga's goalkeeper Modesto Cerilo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Americo Claude recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Diaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Esteve Rafe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Campos defense, Amancio Petrigai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Esteve Rafe. The Campos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Esteve Rafe should have stopped the shot. If Victor Diaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Diaz in the 79th minute of play forced Campos's goalkeeper Esteve Rafe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carolo Maidana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
