It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Justo Gabino. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Cordario got free with Justo Gabino in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Silvio Iigo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Rosario's zone, Luis Seber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilfredo Ongile came out of the goal and Luis Seber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 26th minute, Alvaro Cordario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilfredo Ongile took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Palben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Seber in the 34th minute of play forced Rosario's goalkeeper Wilfredo Ongile to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urbano Ostots could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Justo Gabino made a huge save. In the 38th match minute, Irazusta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Tome to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Irazusta's Esteve Burutzagi got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 45 minutes into the game, Rosario's Filomeno Marcones nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The referee ignored Rosario's protests and gave Silvio Iigo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Irazusta booed when Rosario was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvio Iigo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 59th minute, Gabriel Palben ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilfredo Ongile was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After having played for 62 minutes, Gabriel Palben managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Irazusta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel Palben was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 64th minute, Alvaro Cordario hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Ticho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 65th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Wilfredo Ongile. Rosario's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 94 minutes, Filomeno Marcones made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Irazusta's Justo Gabino tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilfredo Ongile didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Seber went, in the 98th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rosario fans cheered their team off the field, for while Irazusta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
