After a rather tough play, Posadas's German Txatxu got a free kick in the 24th minute. Nicolas Eriz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Victoriano Ciceron blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elias Esquipula having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Posadas's zone, Anastasio Lastur stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Esquipula came out of the goal and Anastasio Lastur tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Placido Mendebal charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Placido Mendebal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Jovita AFC! Amancio Ishmael received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Pastor Enol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Elias Esquipula made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anastasio Lastur in the 60th minute of play. After 63 minutes, Fernando Macias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jovita AFC and the Posadas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fernando Macias hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Jovita AFC's Pastor Enol got control of the ball when Amancio Ishmael tried to sneak it across the goal line. Posadas's Elias Esquipula played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victoriano Ciceron in the 71st minute of play. A hard shot 76 in the game by Amancio Ishmael from a close distance when the talented Pastor Enol managed to make a qualified save. Jovita AFC's players were relieved.
