Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Carmelo Ferran got the match started through his kick off. Zeledon Arlo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Mergildo having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, Alhuampa's goalkeeper Robustiano Blai had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baldomiro Madeo. Zonda's Fabricio Mergildo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Arlo in the 10th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baldomiro Madeo got free with Robustiano Blai in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Baldomiro Madeo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robustiano Blai was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. In the 19th minute Zeledon Arlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabricio Mergildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Baldomiro Madeo came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Zonda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baldomiro Madeo couldn't finish the play. Basilio Reno kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Carmelo Ferran recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th minute Carmelo Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Blai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zeledon Arlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Pascual George struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Fabricio Mergildo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Alhuampa. Alhuampa's Zeledon Arlo got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amado Ferrando during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Amado Ferrando hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 68th minute Carmelo Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Blai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fausto Urre kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Baldomiro Madeo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Alhuampa's zone, Carmelo Ferran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robustiano Blai came out of the goal and Carmelo Ferran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmelo Ferran in the 74th minute of play forced Alhuampa's goalkeeper Robustiano Blai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute, Baldomiro Madeo made a precise shot to the right of Robustiano Blai. Alhuampa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Robustiano Blai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Baldomiro Madeo's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 84th minute, Santiago Bernabel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Angelino Cidro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 85th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Robustiano Blai. Alhuampa's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Carmelo Ferran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amado Ferrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Mergildo having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zonda fans cheered their team off the field, for while Alhuampa had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
