Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Raul Itzaina kicked off to start the match. In the 3rd minute, Virgilio Pero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Banfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ricardo Sabin made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Virgilio Pero sent off a good shot on target. After 13 minutes, Benito Gitano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gonnet and the Banfield players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 13 played minutes Gonnet got a freekick which was hit by Benito Gitano. Ricardo Sabin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Itzaina, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Banfield:s Gabriel Elodio showed great skill when he stopped Ignacio Caitano:s penalty. Ignacio Caitano took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Elodio. Gabriel Elodio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After having played for 20 minutes, Raul Itzaina managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Banfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Itzaina was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Pero got free with Ricardo Sabin in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ermegildo Lando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Romeo Abeitia during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Banfield getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Romeo Abeitia hit a great ball. Ignacio Caitano was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield's zone, Jacobo Duardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Elodio came out of the goal and Jacobo Duardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ermegildo Lando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Elodio having to interfere. The supporters of Gonnet booed when Banfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Abeitia didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 43rd minute of the match Gonnet got a corner. Banfield's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ignacio Caitano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Ignacio Caitano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Banfield's Gabriel Elodio did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield's zone, Daniel Lizardi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Elodio came out of the goal and Daniel Lizardi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Gonnet's Ermegildo Lando in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Banfield's goalie prevented a goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jacobo Duardo to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Jacobo Duardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Elodio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute Gonnet were awarded a corner. Ignacio Caitano went to the cornerflag to take it. Gonnet's Ignacio Caitano was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Gabriel Elodio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jacobo Duardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Banfield's Gabriel Elodio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Banfield from getting a goal against them. If Raul Itzaina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raul Itzaina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Ricardo Sabin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Banfield getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Raul Itzaina hit a great ball. If Ermegildo Lando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Gonnet's goal looked a bit too open when Virgilio Pero came free, but Ricardo Sabin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ricardo Sabin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgilio Pero in the 77th minute of the match. Raul Itzaina might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Sabin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raul Itzaina ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Elodio made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Ermegildo Lando sent off a good shot on target. If Jacobo Duardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
