Wolfburg FC's Conrado Blanco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Wolfburg FC from getting a goal against them. Sixto Oriol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Blas Caitano in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blas Caitano in the 9th minute of play forced C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Sixto Oriol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conrado Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iker Jokin in the 11th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Fabio Baraquiel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sixto Oriol was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Luisito Gaxan scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Oriol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Wolfburg FC's goal looked a bit too open when Iker Jokin came free, but Conrado Blanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conrado Blanco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Genaro Corderall went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Iker Jokin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Conrado Blanco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hernan Ortzi during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's Hernan Ortzi got a free kick in the 44th minute. Sixto Oriol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blas Caitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blas Caitano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iker Jokin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Wolfburg FC defense, Iker Jokin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Conrado Blanco. The Wolfburg FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conrado Blanco should have stopped the shot. Fabio Baraquiel scored 4-2 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sixto Oriol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luisito Gaxan kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's goalkeeper Sixto Oriol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Fabio Baraquiel could shoot a difficult shot in the 68th minute, which Sixto Oriol however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blas Caitano in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixto Oriol saved C.A. Vélez Sarsfield from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iker Jokin in the 73rd minute of play forced Wolfburg FC's goalkeeper Conrado Blanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sixto Oriol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Blas Caitano in the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 82 minutes, Genaro Corderall managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Corderall was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blas Caitano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sixto Oriol having to interfere. C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's Sixto Oriol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blas Caitano in the 89th minute of play. Wolfburg FC's Gaspar Noe got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. C.A. Vélez Sarsfield's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
