After 4 minutes, Ciro Martxelin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esther and the Rumipal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rumipal booed when Esther was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Martxelin didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Rumipal's Leandro Argina threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernardo Pinto, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. During the 9th minute of the match Ciro Martxelin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ciro Martxelin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Baldomero Frascuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artemio Tabby, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Bernardo Pinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Argina having to interfere. After having played for 36 minutes, Gaston Corderro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esther's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaston Corderro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artemio Tabby was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Bernardo Pinto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Leandro Argina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Rumipal getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ovidio Rey hit a great ball. With a little luck, Rumipal's Baldomero Frascuelo got control of the ball when Artemio Tabby tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Gaston Corderro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leandro Argina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Hitzeder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bernardo Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Leandro Argina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Argina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Pinto's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the game, Valentin Hitzeder was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rumipal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esther the free kick. In the 95th minute of the match, Artemio Tabby got a very nice opportunity to score, but Baldomero Frascuelo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rumipal's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
