The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bernabe Oinatz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Benvide in the 12th minute of play forced Mercedes's goalkeeper Bernabe Oinatz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Mercedes's Rafael Tomi got a free kick in the 13th minute. Silvano Mannie kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Aquiles Reno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernabe Oinatz having to interfere. If Rafael Tomi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ovidio Benvide made a kick off. Aquiles Reno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. The supporters of The All Blaks booed when Mercedes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Tomi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roman Txeru took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bernabe Oinatz. Mercedes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Rafael Tomi kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. A very good chance for a goal. Mercedes were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing The All Blaks to leave the ground with a draw.
