After having played for 30 minutes, Jairo Tancredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escalada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jairo Tancredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th minute, Edgardo Araoz made a precise shot to the right of Robustiano Nalo. Escalada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Justo Bertran's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robustiano Nalo firmly grabbed it by the left post. If Jairo Tancredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaristo Austin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edgardo Araoz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Robustiano Nalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Araoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Araoz in the 73rd minute of play forced Escalada's goalkeeper Robustiano Nalo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, Siro Cordeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juan Unax was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute Leonides Ferdinand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Nalo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
