Miguel Restu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidio Corderun's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Heineken's Miguel Restu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Heineken from getting a goal against them. 16 minutes into the match, Sarmiento's goal looked a bit too open when Domingos Dacio came free, but Fidel Ongile reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Heineken booed when Sarmiento was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustin Ricart didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Heineken getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Edgardo Rexino hit a great ball. Vicente Mateo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 40 minutes into the match. The shot was stopped by Miguel Restu but with some difficulty. Heineken's Dalmacio Fiz quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Agustin Ricart, made in the 44th minute of the game. Sarmiento's Fidel Ongile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rigoberto Tebaldo in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Heineken were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ovidio Corderun was the one to do the kick off. If Ovidio Corderun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heineken's Dalmacio Fiz got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fidel Ongile made an important save on a dangerous shot by Domingos Dacio in the 58th minute. Domingos Dacio came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fidel Ongile could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Corderun in the 65th minute of play forced Heineken's goalkeeper Miguel Restu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismael Dabi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Restu having to interfere. Domingos Dacio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Fidel Ongile made a huge save. If Ismael Dabi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Restu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Dabi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ovidio Corderun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Domingos Dacio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute, Oscar Tulio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Miguel Restu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. When Rigoberto Tebaldo came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Heineken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rigoberto Tebaldo couldn't finish the play. Domingos Dacio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Ongile having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Heineken eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
