When Cayetano Tristan came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Guaraní Horacio F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cayetano Tristan couldn't finish the play. Angelo Vincent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Benino having to interfere. Ruben Benino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Vincent in the 16th minute of the match. Guaraní Horacio F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Anier Padro scored to the left of an out of position Aureliano Argoitz, making the score, 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Banfield's Anier Padro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aureliano Argoitz. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cayetano Tristan in the 27th minute of play forced Banfield's goalkeeper Ruben Benino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cayetano Tristan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Banfield's Ruben Benino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Vincent in the 34th minute of play. Sixto Mincho hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. The supporters of Guaraní Horacio F.C. booed when Banfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casimiro Lertxun didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ruben Benino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Tristan in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cayetano Tristan was the one to do the kick off. Aureliano Argoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anier Padro in the 56th minute of play. 64 minutes into the game, Urbano Nuñez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Banfield's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guaraní Horacio F.C. the free kick. 64 minutes into the game, one of Banfield:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Cayetano Tristan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruben Benino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th match minute, Guaraní Horacio F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Generoso Teyo to maneuver through the defense. Cayetano Tristan might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ruben Benino. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ruben Benino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Guaraní Horacio F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Banfield throughout the match.
