The VillaClub fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cristobal Matro should have stopped the shot. 17 minutes into the game, Francisco Urtsua was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. VillaClub's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Chones FC the free kick. Eustacio Bidari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Matro having to interfere. If Arnaldo Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eustacio Bidari got free with Cristobal Matro in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teo Quentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Cristobal Matro made a huge save. Los Chones FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
