The referee showed Severiano Rojelio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Cerrito getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Severiano Rojelio hit a great ball. Arturo Orlondon came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerrito's Enrique Araoz. But to his dismay, Enrique Araoz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Silvio Lleir's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arturo Orlondon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute of the match Cerrito got a corner. gesell club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Paulino Ursino ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Paulino Ursino almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but gesell club's Arturo Orlondon did a great save. Benito Laurin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Arturo Orlondon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, gesell club's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Laurin came free, but Arturo Orlondon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Orlondon came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Cerrito's Benito Laurin. But to his dismay, Benito Laurin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Cerrito's Benito Laurin got a free kick in the 34th minute. If Anastasio Tauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Teo Emmanuel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rdth minute of the game Silvio Lleir who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but gesell club's Arturo Orlondon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benito Laurin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. gesell club's Arturo Orlondon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Lleir in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Arturo Orlondon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvio Lleir in the 52nd minute of play. Silvio Lleir recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvio Lleir might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arturo Orlondon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Silvio Lleir ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Silvio Lleir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arturo Orlondon was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cerrito's goalkeeper Leopoldo Urti, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in gesell club's zone, Silvio Lleir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arturo Orlondon came out of the goal and Silvio Lleir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 72 minutes, Benito Laurin made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. gesell club's Arturo Orlondon tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Teo Emmanuel's late challenge caught a Cerrito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teo Emmanuel helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cerrito booed when gesell club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teo Emmanuel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arturo Orlondon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvio Lleir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anastasio Tauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Isaac Stanislao received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Leopoldo Urti tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cerrito had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
