After a rather tough play, Tacaglé's Ciro Abilio got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Ciro Abilio got his second yellow card in the match during the 4th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Ciro Abilio kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, independiente's Melquiades Domenec tried to score from far away in the 6th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lucio Illan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Santiago Belasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tacaglé's Lucio Illan got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, independiente's Salvador Ruisko got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 19th minute Gustavo Abadie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Belasko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Illan in the 20th minute of play forced independiente's goalkeeper Santiago Belasko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reynaldo Bras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteban Lucado in the 24th minute of the match. After 26 played minutes independiente got a freekick which was hit by Americo Karmel. In the 27th minute Lucio Illan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Belasko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 played minutes independiente got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Lucado. 34 minutes into the match, Tacaglé's goalkeeper Reynaldo Bras had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Esteban Lucado. Santiago Belasko took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucio Illan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 played minutes independiente got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Ruisko. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Illan in the 41st minute of play forced independiente's goalkeeper Santiago Belasko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th minute, Lucio Illan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lucio Illan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Bras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angel Heriberto in the 53rd minute of play. After 60 minutes, Lino Raymundo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the independiente and the Tacaglé players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some careless play in the Tacaglé defense, Angel Heriberto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reynaldo Bras. The Tacaglé fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reynaldo Bras should have stopped the shot. Artemio Clis charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artemio Clis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Artemio Clis hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fabio Seguinus during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Reynaldo Bras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angel Heriberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Angel Heriberto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oscar Quin during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tacaglé's Oscar Quin got a free kick in the 90th minute.
