But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sixto Barea couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Pibe Balderrama's Claudio Lekubegi got a free kick in the 46th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Reynaldo Tancredo was the one to do the kick off. Trambolico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sixto Barea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Florencio Oskitz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ambrosio Oihan was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Cirilo Suero kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Trambolico's zone, Esteve Mundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serafin Eusko came out of the goal and Esteve Mundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Reynaldo Tancredo struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Serafin Eusko didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pibe Balderrama. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
