Joaquin Firme dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, Alberdi's goal looked a bit too open when Cosme Oinaz came free, but Joaquin Firme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmiro Bidun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Joaquin Firme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 32 minutes into the match, Cosme Oinaz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Firme. Alberdi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cosme Oinaz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. If Cosme Oinaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Delmiro Bidun got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Uriel Elodio charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Uriel Elodio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 42 minutes into the match, Celta de Vigo's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Adrio came free, but Andres Galoer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guillermo Adrio was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Celta de Vigo's zone, Santo Ganix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andres Galoer came out of the goal and Santo Ganix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Andres Galoer managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Alberdi's Santo Ganix fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Santo Ganix might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andres Galoer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santo Ganix ran back to his position shaking his head. Andres Galoer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Santo Ganix in the 67th minute. With a little luck, Celta de Vigo's Andres Galoer got control of the ball when Santo Ganix tried to sneak it across the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Anier Gregory was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. For all the effort they put into the match, the Alberdi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Celta de Vigo.
