In the 10th minute Gerardo Gines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Mateus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustacio Firmin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Geronimo Reyes made a huge save. Luis Admon struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Geronimo Reyes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tejas FC. Eustacio Firmin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geronimo Reyes having to interfere. Atletico Perla del Valle's Narciso Savier got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Atletico Perla del Valle booed when Tejas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Firmin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Savier in the 39th minute of play forced Tejas FC's goalkeeper Martin Mateus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fermin Emeterio might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geronimo Reyes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geronimo Reyes came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Tejas FC's Eustacio Firmin. But to his dismay, Eustacio Firmin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 65 minutes into the match, Gerardo Gines notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Tejas FC's Martin Mateus. Martin Mateus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
