In the 5th minute, Guillermo Lauro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angel Umbruso during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Angel Umbruso kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. The supporters of Berreta booed when Barborín FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angel Umbruso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Francisco Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berreta's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Montes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Vigil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Barborín FC's Camilo Lohitzun got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alejo Abalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camilo Lohitzun, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Guillermo Lauro kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Delmiro Cresconio, 28 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Justino Noe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Lohitzun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Alejo Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Romo charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Romo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Barborín FC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jaime Romo hit a great ball. Barborín FC's Jaime Romo suffered a concussion after 38 minutes and had to leave the field. When Albino Goiz fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Berreta's protests and gave Albino Goiz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th match minute, Berreta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albino Goiz to maneuver through the defense. The excitement rose when Barborín FC's Angel Umbruso after 41 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Berreta's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-1. Barborín FC's Haroldo Vigil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Montes in the 46th minute of play. The Berreta players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Barborín FC were winning 0-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Francisco Montes made a kick off. Camilo Lohitzun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 58 minutes into the match, Barborín FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Chale came free, but Haroldo Vigil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 minutes, Justino Noe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barborín FC and the Berreta players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Barborín FC's Justino Noe got a free kick in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, Berreta's Vicente Montrell broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Francisco Montes struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Haroldo Vigil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berreta. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barborín FC's goalkeeper Haroldo Vigil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arsenio Bidari kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Haroldo Vigil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Montrell in the 73rd minute of play. When Francisco Montes came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Berreta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Montes couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Francisco Montes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berreta's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Montes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haroldo Vigil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Etxeberri in the 92nd minute of the match. Camilo Lohitzun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Barborín FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Barborín FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
