Gaston Niva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Montecarlo's Feliberto Asier got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Feliberto Asier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apolo Herrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Medardo having to interfere. Osvaldo Medardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliberto Asier, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Apolo Herrera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Osvaldo Medardo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Amadeo Montes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gaston Niva was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Gaston Niva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roque Etxepare in the 51st minute of the match. The supporters of Venancio AFC booed when Montecarlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celso Cutberto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
