Soutomayor's Julio Koldobika played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Loco in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Soutomayor's Ernesto Ubendu got a free kick in the 14th minute. Soutomayor's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Lorenzo Loco scored to the left of an out of position Julio Koldobika, making the score, 1-0. In the 43rd minute, Soutomayor's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lorenzo Loco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Angel Sarracino came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the roots rock reggae fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Sarracino couldn't finish the play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Julio Koldobika showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lorenzo Loco, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute.
