Piquete's Abel Gaufred proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Piquete from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hector Erruki in the 5th minute of play forced Piquete's goalkeeper Abel Gaufred to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Holdich's Pascual Montel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Epifanio Bernebe in the 9th minute of play. Justino Jaunti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Abel Gaufred made a huge save. With a little luck, Piquete's Abel Gaufred got control of the ball when Justino Jaunti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Abel Gaufred showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hector Erruki in the 25th minute of the match. Epifanio Bernebe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Pascual Montel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pascual Montel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Epifanio Bernebe in the 36th minute of the match. If Epifanio Bernebe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pascual Montel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Vergaray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hector Erruki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Epifanio Bernebe was the one to do the kick off. Rodolfo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Justino Jaunti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abel Gaufred having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eugenio Timo during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 minutes of play, Holdich's Hector Erruki made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abel Gaufred was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Piquete booed when Holdich was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natalio Argenis didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Justino Jaunti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Piquete getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Haroldo Peruanton hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Piquete's zone, Hector Erruki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abel Gaufred came out of the goal and Hector Erruki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Piquete's Abel Gaufred played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Justino Jaunti in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Epifanio Bernebe got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
