After 8 minutes of play, Paz's Celso Azibar made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Martin Bautista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Azibar, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After 18 played minutes AFC Irina got a freekick which was hit by Anier Quinton. Ladislao Cedro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ciriaco Gines didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 26th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. In the 32nd minute, Teofilo Furman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Manuel Txatxu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ladislao Cedro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Gines having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Emiliano Hanot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Paz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emiliano Hanot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Bautista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Hanot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ladislao Cedro was the one to do the kick off. Celso Azibar struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Martin Bautista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paz. Emiliano Hanot's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Bautista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, AFC Irina's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Hanot came free, but Martin Bautista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emiliano Hanot received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Martin Bautista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Ladislao Cedro made a precise shot to the right of Ciriaco Gines. Paz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Martin Lon kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Emiliano Hanot had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Celso Azibar got free with Martin Bautista in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ciriaco Gines showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ladislao Cedro in the 83rd minute of the match. Gaston Ferman charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gaston Ferman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gaston Ferman kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Manuel Txatxu came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the AFC Irina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manuel Txatxu couldn't finish the play. Ladislao Cedro struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
