The referee ignored independiente nqn's protests and gave Aureliano Ortzi a yellow card for diving instead. If Santiago Polentzi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. In the 19th minute Joaquin Kismi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Dorio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Polentzi in the 20th minute of play forced independiente nqn's goalkeeper Hermengildo Dorio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carmelo Sabin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hermengildo Dorio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Polentzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermengildo Dorio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquin Kismi, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute, Santiago Polentzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hermengildo Dorio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Joaquin Kismi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Dorio having to interfere. Santiago Polentzi scored 0-3 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hermengildo Dorio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Joaquin Kismi could shoot a difficult shot in the 62nd minute, which Hermengildo Dorio however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 64 minutes, Santiago Polentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. newells's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Polentzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Santiago Polentzi in the 66th minute of play forced independiente nqn's goalkeeper Hermengildo Dorio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santiago Polentzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
