Feliciano Aureo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Singapur FC's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Rosalio came free, but Cristobal Ihazintu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Moise might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristobal Ihazintu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Antonio Moise ran back to his position shaking his head. Claudio Rosalio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristobal Ihazintu having to interfere. Braulio Vimaro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roberto Indalecio in the 24th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Primitivo Matai was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Singapur FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mataldi the free kick. Claudio Rosalio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 49 minutes, Roberto Indalecio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Singapur FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roberto Indalecio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Mataldi were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Danilo Ixaka to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Singapur FC's zone, Antonio Moise stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristobal Ihazintu came out of the goal and Antonio Moise tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 54 minutes into the match, Mataldi's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Ixaka came free, but Braulio Vimaro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Singapur FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Roberto Indalecio hit a great ball. Danilo Ixaka might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Braulio Vimaro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Danilo Ixaka ran back to his position shaking his head. After 74 minutes, Nereo Sauveur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Singapur FC and the Mataldi players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Singapur FC's Nereo Sauveur got a free kick in the 74th minute. Mataldi's Braulio Vimaro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roberto Indalecio in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, Geronimo Gabrio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mataldi's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Singapur FC the free kick. Braulio Vimaro went to the wrong direction when Nereo Sauveur was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roberto Indalecio in the 85th minute of play forced Mataldi's goalkeeper Braulio Vimaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Danilo Ixaka sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 97 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Danilo Ixaka sped through Mataldi's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Braulio Vimaro. The Mataldi supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mataldi would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
