Diego Harri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amancio Gimenez in the 22nd minute of the match. Nicasio Ederono showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benjamin Adrio in the 26th minute of the match. Mencué's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zeledon Vergaray was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Santiago Ubelteso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicasio Ederono took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Godofredo Bermudez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Nicasio Ederono made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godofredo Bermudez in the 60th minute of play. When Mencué's Amancio Gimenez in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd rose to their feet as GALLO FUTBOL CLUB's Godofredo Bermudez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicasio Ederono. That made the score 1-1 after 71 minutes of play. 75 minutes into the match, Mencué's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Bermudez came free, but Nicasio Ederono reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th minute, Amancio Gimenez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Harri was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Benjamin Adrio kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. A collision led to Mencué getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Ovidio Izotz hit a great ball. Nicasio Ederono made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benjamin Adrio in the 87th minute. After 88 minutes, Zeledon Vergaray mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mencué and the GALLO FUTBOL CLUB players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 88 played minutes Mencué got a freekick which was hit by Zeledon Vergaray. In the 94th minute, Hermengildo Bela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
