An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Gartzen in the 3rd minute of play forced Maipú's goalkeeper Higinio Nesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th match minute, Totty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carolo Hitzeder to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Maipú booed when Totty was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celestino Dalmau didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the game, one of Totty:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Maipú. Filomeno Lizar stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tomás Huly. 1-1. Alvaro Normando struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Higinio Nesto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Totty. When Lino Hitzeder came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lino Hitzeder couldn't finish the play. Lino Hitzeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Claudio Aritza came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claudio Aritza couldn't finish the play. Tomás Huly made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Claudio Aritza sent off a good shot on target.

The wind increased when Alvaro Normando made the kick off in the second half. Alvaro Normando sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute, Celestino Dalmau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 75th minute, Arnoldo Jerano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Totty's goalkeeper Tomás Huly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Higinio Nesto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alvaro Normando in the 81st minute. When the match was over Totty could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Maipú throughout the match.
