Geronimo Fresco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute, Piquete's Cecilio Rios dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Piquete's Enrique Oxel got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 27 minutes into the match, IZIT Club's goalkeeper Cornelio Lehoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Oxel. Enrique Oxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelio Lehoi having to interfere. In the 34th minute Virgilio Acevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Benvide saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes of play, IZIT Club's Virgilio Acevedo made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leopoldo Benvide was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 42nd minute Geronimo Fresco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Lehoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Iliana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Leopoldo Benvide tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Virgilio Acevedo to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Ermegildo Urdaspal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piquete's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ermegildo Urdaspal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Romeo Frisco couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Piquete had played much better football throughout.
