David Mantzio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Manuel Venceslao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Mantzio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Patrido in the 15th minute of the match. David Mantzio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciriaco Perutxo in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Banfield AFC's goalkeeper Emilio Lizardi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's Ulises Olo got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Leo Lia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's zone, Ciriaco Perutxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Mantzio came out of the goal and Ciriaco Perutxo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the game, Angel Valiente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Banfield AFC the free kick. After 28 played minutes ATENEO GRAL CABRERA got a freekick which was hit by Angel Valiente. ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's David Mantzio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciriaco Perutxo in the 29th minute of play. Emilio Lizardi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Lia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafael Patrido was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, Ciriaco Perutxo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Mantzio. ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciriaco Perutxo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 61st minute Rafael Patrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Mantzio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ciriaco Perutxo scored 0-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of David Mantzio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcos Hartz's late challenge caught a ATENEO GRAL CABRERA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcos Hartz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Banfield AFC's Marcos Hartz got a free kick in the 71st minute. Emilio Lizardi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leo Lia went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Venceslao during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 83rd minute Leo Lia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Lizardi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Mantzio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcos Hartz in the 86th minute of the match. Ciriaco Perutxo struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. David Mantzio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfield AFC. Rafael Patrido received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. David Mantzio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Banfield AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ATENEO GRAL CABRERA throughout the match.
