After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Virgilio Markel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Weisburd's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Markel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Demesio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Markel got free with Federico Demesio in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquin Enol to maneuver through the defense. After 15 minutes of play, Estudiantes de La Plata's Miguel Belo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Teodoro Maju was left in no man's land by his defense there! Amancio Hondo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Maju took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from German Henrico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pablo Hustaz hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute of the match Luis Pere shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Federico Demesio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience held their breath when Isidro Semeno in the 34th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Federico Demesio's left hand side. 35 minutes into the game, Joaquin Enol was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Weisburd the free kick. In the 44th minute, Luis Pere hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amancio Hondo to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgilio Markel during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Miguel Belo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Maju having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de La Plata's goal looked a bit too open when Amancio Hondo came free, but Federico Demesio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Weisburd booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquin Enol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Federico Demesio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgilio Markel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Federico Demesio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Hondo in the 93rd minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Weisburd's Virgilio Markel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Federico Demesio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Weisburd's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
