Pablo Anaya was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eugenio Natal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. Julio Norino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Anaya having to interfere. Julio Norino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Pablo Anaya made a huge save. Alfredo Jesco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Anaya having to interfere. In the 37th minute, AC Finisterre's Alfredo Jesco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pablo Anaya. Pablo Anaya yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfredo Jesco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Pablo Anaya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Norino in the 61st minute of the match. If Silvio Lazcano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pablo Anaya took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Norino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AC Finisterre's Julio Norino got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Oscar Lapurdi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Norino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Anaya having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Jesco came free, but Pablo Anaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alfredo Jesco struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Pablo Anaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Finisterre. RIVER PLATE's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
