In the 16th minute of the match Hector Xabier sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacobo Maldonado skillfully saved the ball. The tension between the Gavilán FC and the Escalante FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 23 minutes into the match, Abel Efraim notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Escalante FC's Jacobo Maldonado. After having played for 46 minutes, Leonardo Jesco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gavilán FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Jesco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Epifanio Pereyra was the one to do the kick off. Abel Efraim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Maldonado having to interfere. If Abel Efraim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Epifanio Pereyra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Escalante FC's Epifanio Pereyra got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Gavilán FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Escalante FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
