In the 28th minute, Guido Nofre fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tomás Eztebe, passed just outside the right post. When Guido Nofre came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Spezia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guido Nofre couldn't finish the play. Tomás Eztebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spezia. Geronimo Boniel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Tomás Eztebe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guido Nofre was the one to do the kick off. Tomás Eztebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Nofre, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Chepes's Tomás Eztebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geronimo Boniel in the 54th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Guido Nofre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Spezia's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Nofre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Eztebe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 64 minutes into the match, Chepes's goal looked a bit too open when Geronimo Boniel came free, but Tomás Eztebe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Eztebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guido Nofre in the 65th minute of play. Joel Caetano hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Chepes's Emiliano Larra got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Segundo Galoer sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Chepes's Tomás Eztebe didn't even have to move. In the 76th minute, Geronimo Boniel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Eztebe was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Spezia's Jimeno Aguirre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicasio Dolcet in the 86th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jimeno Ospin got free with Jimeno Aguirre in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geronimo Boniel struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Tomás Eztebe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spezia.
