Club Union Deportiva's Natalio Eztebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filiberto Colon in the 27th minute of play. When Aquiles Benvide came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Independiente F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aquiles Benvide couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filiberto Colon made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mauro Montrell during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 54 minutes, Hermengildo Goi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celestino Francho was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Natalio Eztebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filiberto Colon in the 69th minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Independiente F.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ladislao Rocendo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Independiente F.C were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
