The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carlos Etxepare hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Carmelo Harri hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 10 minutes into the match, Independiente FC's Cosme Salamon broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. A collision led to Taquello getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Rodrigo Goizeder hit a great ball. The supporters of Independiente FC booed when Taquello was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Etxepare didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Independiente FC's Cosme Salamon tried to score from far away in the 22nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 24 minutes of play Taquello's Carlos Etxepare was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 24 minutes into the game, one of Taquello:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 30th minute, Isaac Goizeder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cosme Lucado in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuel Rioja prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Samuel Rioja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Papo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Cosme Lucado struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Samuel Rioja didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente FC. 44 minutes into the match, Rodrigo Goizeder had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogelio Azevedo. Independiente FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rodrigo Goizeder was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celso Papo made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Independiente FC's Cosme Salamon broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cosme Lucado could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Samuel Rioja made a huge save. Samuel Rioja showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Celso Papo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Rogelio Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Goizeder in the 62nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Independiente FC defense, Rodrigo Goizeder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogelio Azevedo. The Independiente FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogelio Azevedo should have stopped the shot. Carmelo Harri blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogelio Azevedo having to make a save. After having played for 67 minutes, Rodrigo Goizeder managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taquello's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rodrigo Goizeder was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 76th minute of the match Melchor Bitxintxo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rogelio Azevedo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 79th minute, Independiente FC's Cosme Lucado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. The audience was convinced that Celso Papo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Rioja was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Taquello's Fabricio Gonzalez got a free kick in the 85th minute. Cosme Lucado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Rioja having to interfere. Cosme Lucado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Samuel Rioja having to make a save. Samuel Rioja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Papo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cosme Lucado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Rioja having to interfere. The Independiente FC players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Taquello from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
