Saverio Rioja could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Fausto Librado made a huge save. Hilario Rocio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Fausto Librado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Saverio Rioja came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Vieytes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Saverio Rioja couldn't finish the play. Damaso Larpe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rigoberto Rudolfo, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Saverio Rioja had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hilario Rocio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Librado having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Cowboy Athletic got a freekick which was hit by Froilan Santos. In the 34th minute, Vieytes FC's Saverio Rioja dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 40th match minute, Cowboy Athletic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leandro Chayo to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Saverio Rioja fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

That made the score 1-1 after 56 minutes of play. 60 minutes into the game, Horacio Pirmin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vieytes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cowboy Athletic the free kick. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Rigoberto Rudolfo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Luciano Dominguez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cowboy Athletic's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Dominguez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damaso Larpe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rigoberto Rudolfo fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cowboy Athletic's protests and gave Rigoberto Rudolfo a yellow card for diving instead. Rigoberto Rudolfo hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match.
