After a defensive mix-up in Chañares FC's zone, Edgardo Perpinya stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Gotzon came out of the goal and Edgardo Perpinya tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 9th minute Julian Onofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Basualdo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Baldomero Modestio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Serafino Basualdo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Alejo Nesor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adolfo Panfilo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Gotzon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Perpinya in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Perpinya in the 29th minute of play forced Chañares FC's goalkeeper Jonathan Gotzon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Modestio in the 34th minute of play forced Marucho's goalkeeper Serafino Basualdo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejo Nesor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serafino Basualdo having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Marucho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florencio Polentzi to maneuver through the defense. After 46 minutes Marucho's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gregorio Atarratze who took care of the corner kick. Epifanio Arnas was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edgardo Perpinya was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victorio Loiola during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Victorio Loiola hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Marucho's Ivan Satordi got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jonathan Gotzon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Perpinya, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Baldomero Modestio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Serafino Basualdo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Gotzon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marucho. Chañares FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
