Octavio Hotz started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Darwin getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Zacarias Refugio hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Posadas FC's Luis Joanes in action when he in the 40th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serafin Firmin during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Darwin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serafin Firmin to maneuver through the defense. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Darwin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Samuel Vasco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Darwin's zone, Prospero Procopio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulino Arano came out of the goal and Prospero Procopio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Samuel Vasco made a precise shot to the right of Moises Favila. Posadas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 86th minute Octavio Hotz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulino Arano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Darwin's Samuel Vasco got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Samuel Vasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Darwin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dalmacio Presebal to maneuver through the defense. After 98 minutes Darwin's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luis Joanes who took care of the corner kick. Darwin were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Posadas FC for a fine match.
