When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Leonides Edwardo took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Teodosio Pasqual to make any attempt to save it. Elpidio Macias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Teodosio Pasqual tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dep. Libertad de Tandil's Leonides Edwardo in 20 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Teodosio Pasqual guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Hipatía's Teodosio Pasqual played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Edwardo in the 27th minute of play. Dep. Libertad de Tandil's Federico Cuarto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Barbosa in the 33rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dep. Libertad de Tandil's Guaberto Chumo got a free kick in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Oscar Endura notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Dep. Libertad de Tandil's Federico Cuarto. Federico Cuarto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Elpidio Macias came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Dep. Libertad de Tandil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elpidio Macias couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfonso Medina during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Hipatía getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Alfonso Medina hit a great ball. Dep. Libertad de Tandil's Ivan Gudesteo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 56th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Hipatía. In the 61st minute Leonides Edwardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Pasqual saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Enduras short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Federico Cuarto to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oscar Endura got free with Federico Cuarto in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Hipatía booed when Dep. Libertad de Tandil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorio Oliveiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Hipatía getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Cornelio Ciano hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Leonides Edwardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodosio Pasqual was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. When Cornelio Ciano fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hipatía's protests and gave Cornelio Ciano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 81st minute, Cornelio Ciano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Oscar Endura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hipatía's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Endura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Cuarto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Dep. Libertad de Tandil's zone, Leandro Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Federico Cuarto came out of the goal and Leandro Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 90 minutes into the game, Ermegildo Pereyra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hipatía's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dep. Libertad de Tandil the free kick. After 90 played minutes Hipatía got a freekick which was hit by Ermegildo Pereyra. Oscar Endura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Federico Cuarto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Federico Cuarto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute.
