Eustacio Igon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Enrique Bernad having to make a save. In the 18th minute of the match Bartolo Llorienzo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Enrique Bernad skillfully saved the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Ernesto Ursino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Irazusta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ponte Baires FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Irazusta's Ernesto Ursino got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, Eustacio Igon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Feliberto Pio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafino Indartsu went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Irazusta's Honorio Iruinea got a free kick in the 31st minute. The supporters of Irazusta booed when Ponte Baires FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paolo Teodor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paolo Teodor charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paolo Teodor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Paolo Teodor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Ursino hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Honorio Iruinea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Irazusta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cipriano Leizarraga in the 54th minute. Irazusta's Cipriano Leizarraga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Feliberto Pio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ponte Baires FC's Romulo Mouricio got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Ponte Baires FC's Edgardo Sanchez got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Eustacio Igon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Enrique Bernad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Eustacio Igon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Amado Navarro fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Irazusta's protests and gave Amado Navarro a yellow card for diving instead. Amado Navarro hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Enrique Bernad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eustacio Igon in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd match minute, Irazusta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Guifre to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Eustacio Igon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ponte Baires FC's zone, Honorio Iruinea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliberto Pio came out of the goal and Honorio Iruinea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Irazusta booed when Ponte Baires FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Goizeder didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 91 minutes, Serafino Indartsu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Irazusta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafino Indartsu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Ponte Baires FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Irazusta to win.
