Enrique Bernad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Oton in the 5th minute of the match. The supporters of Rosario Central 1889 booed when Irazusta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cayetano Guifre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conrado Admon struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Enrique Bernad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central 1889. 14 minutes into the game, Patricio Oton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Enrique Bernad was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Conrado Admon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Bernad was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Honorio Iruinea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Claris having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Honorio Iruinea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irazusta's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Iruinea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santiago Claris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The attack was good, but when Serafino Indartsu in the 32nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Santiago Claris was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Serafino Indartsu showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 36 minute of play. Serafino Indartsu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Santiago Claris made a huge save. Patricio Oton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Bernad having to interfere. The referee showed Ernesto Ursino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th minute, Ernesto Ursino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Irazusta's Enrique Bernad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Irazusta from getting a goal against them. Patricio Oton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Enrique Bernad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honorio Aznar charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Honorio Aznar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 65th match minute, Irazusta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorio Aznar to maneuver through the defense. In the 67th minute, Rosario Central 1889's Patricio Oton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enrique Bernad. Enrique Bernad yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. In the 72nd match minute, Irazusta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Ursino to maneuver through the defense. Enrique Bernad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Conrado Admon in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Serafino Indartsu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Irazusta's supporters rose to their feet, but Serafino Indartsu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santiago Claris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serafino Indartsu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irazusta's Enrique Bernad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Oton in the 82nd minute of play. Conrado Admon in the 85thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Enrique Bernad, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Conrado Admon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Bernad having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Irazusta's zone, Patricio Oton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Bernad came out of the goal and Patricio Oton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute of the match, Conrado Admon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Enrique Bernad was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Irazusta's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Patricio Oton scored to the left of an out of position Enrique Bernad, making the score, 1-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Rosario Central 1889 walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
