Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rolando Cayo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Martin Nuñez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Joti´s 's Epifanio Bernad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dario Merexildo in the 21st minute of play. If Dalmacio Felipillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dalmacio Felipillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Rolando Cayo made a huge save. In the 30th minute Dario Merexildo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Bernad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Los Joti´s 's Honorio Mincho slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Cayo. That made the score 1-0 after 32 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Joti´s 's zone, Christian Quinteros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Epifanio Bernad came out of the goal and Christian Quinteros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dario Merexildo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Epifanio Bernad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Christian Quinteros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Bernad having to interfere. When Dalmacio Felipillo came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Los Joti´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dalmacio Felipillo couldn't finish the play. If Honorio Mincho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Quinteros to strike the kick off in the second half. Epifanio Bernad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Quinteros in the 55th minute of the match. Rolando Cayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorio Mincho in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Los Joti´s 's Honorio Mincho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rolando Cayo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, River F.C's Dario Merexildo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Epifanio Bernad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, Camilo Oton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Joti´s the free kick. A collision led to River F.C getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Camilo Oton hit a great ball. Rolando Cayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dalmacio Felipillo's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Christian Quinteros might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Epifanio Bernad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christian Quinteros ran back to his position shaking his head. Rolando Cayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Honorio Mincho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Los Joti´s booed when River F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Merexildo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute Dalmacio Felipillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Los Joti´s 's Rosendo Nazario got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Vladimiro Mateus shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Epifanio Bernad showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 91stth minute of the game Christian Quinteros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Joti´s 's Epifanio Bernad was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Quinteros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
