The audience thought a goal was coming when Dario Escobar got free with Jorge Ostots in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 8th match minute, PALERMO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabricio Celipe to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narciso Fidencio in the 11th minute of play forced PALERMO FC's goalkeeper Jorge Ostots to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, PALERMO FC's Jorge Ostots got control of the ball when Dario Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Dario Escobar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Ostots made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Escobar in the 76th minute of play. After 83 played minutes PALERMO FC got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Koldobika. Jorge Ostots took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narciso Fidencio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Fabricio Celipe fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PALERMO FC's protests and gave Fabricio Celipe a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Merced AFC booed when PALERMO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Celipe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Ostots made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dario Escobar in the 87th minute of play. Froilan Soter kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. If Narciso Fidencio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelio Koldobika sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
