After having played for 4 minutes, Eustaquio Romo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C VELEZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eustaquio Romo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Piñeyro's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Gumaro came free, but Maximo Abadie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, Donato Abeijon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. F.C VELEZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Piñeyro the free kick. Prudencio Roland might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cosme Nabar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Prudencio Roland ran back to his position shaking his head. 31 minutes into the match, Piñeyro's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Gumaro came free, but Maximo Abadie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Conrado Gumaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 36th minute Conrado Gumaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Abadie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. F.C VELEZ's Cosme Nabar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emilio Larra in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the game, one of Piñeyro:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Vladimiro Hustaz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. In the 45th minute Conrado Gumaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Abadie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conrado Gumaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Prudencio Roland to make the kick off. When Victoriano Cresenciano came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Piñeyro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victoriano Cresenciano couldn't finish the play. Cosme Nabar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prudencio Roland in the 58th minute of the match. Maximo Abadie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eustaquio Romo in the 59th minute. If Conrado Gumaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. F.C VELEZ's Eustaquio Romo suffered a sore thigh after 71 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornelio Checa during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Piñeyro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 71st minute. Penalty! In the 74th minute, the referee gave F.C VELEZ a penalty. Vladimiro Hustaz looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Maximo Abadie. If Prudencio Roland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Bruno Inge fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F.C VELEZ's protests and gave Bruno Inge a yellow card for diving instead. After 89 played minutes F.C VELEZ got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Inge. After a rather tough play, Piñeyro's Jairo Enmanuel got a free kick in the 90th minute. Conrado Gumaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maximo Abadie having to interfere. The Piñeyro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching F.C VELEZ's performance. The match ended with a win for F.C VELEZ.
