The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Cuqi F.C's Bartolo Palos, in the 9th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Cuqi F.C. Teodoro Araoz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruben Bitxintxo, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Cuqi F.C's Tobias George played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melquiades Rolado in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of Cuqi F.C booed when Morrillo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Inguma didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Santos Refugio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodoro Araoz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Bitxintxo in the 26th minute of the match. Bartolo Palos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Teodoro Araoz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Cuqi F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Santos Refugio came free, but Tobias George reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Morrillo AFC's zone, Ruben Bitxintxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodoro Araoz came out of the goal and Ruben Bitxintxo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santos Refugio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the match, Morrillo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Bitxintxo came free, but Teodoro Araoz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Cuqi F.C's Teodoro Araoz threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ruben Bitxintxo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 47th minute Cuqi F.C were awarded a corner. Fidel Etxatxu went to the cornerflag to take it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ruben Bitxintxo to strike the kick off in the second half. Santos Refugio charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santos Refugio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Santos Refugio kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. With his leg Tobias George managed to avoid a goal in the 56thth minute, when Morrillo AFC's Santos Refugio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 61st minute Melquiades Rolado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias George saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Melquiades Rolado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santos Refugio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Tobias George skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cuqi F.C's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Morrillo AFC. Ulises Ranolfo charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ulises Ranolfo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Melquiades Rolado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Morrillo AFC's Melquiades Rolado, in the 84th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Morrillo AFC. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
