Armando Berdaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Flavio Soter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 8th minute, Mariano Goiz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Guañizul's Flavio Soter didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Obeko in the 20th minute of play forced Guañizul's goalkeeper Flavio Soter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Atlas FC booed when Guañizul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Flor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Soter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteban Obeko in the 25th minute of play. Atlas FC's Gualterio Bonifaco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Olando in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Guañizul's Flavio Soter got control of the ball when Maximo Cesaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 32 minutes, Benigno Fliz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guañizul and the Atlas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Esteban Obeko to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Guañizul's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Berdaitz came free, but Flavio Soter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Guañizul's zone, Armando Berdaitz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Flavio Soter came out of the goal and Armando Berdaitz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Esteban Obeko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Candido Olando couldn't finish the play. Esteban Obeko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavio Soter having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Geronimo Ticho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Flavio Soter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Berdaitz in the 89th minute of play. If Esteban Obeko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
