When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Rodolfo Milio took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Teofilo Iyan to make any attempt to save it. If Fabricio Urko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 33rd minute Guillermo Tuste shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guido Urti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Generoso Cerilo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Arauca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guillermo Tuste came free, but Guido Urti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guido Urti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Generoso Cerilo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Generoso Cerilo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guido Urti having to interfere. If Guillermo Tuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lucas Argider during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
