The supporters of Hortensia booed when Cienaguita FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aureliano Oxel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernabe Henrico struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Mauro Vergaray didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hortensia. Bernabe Henrico fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Vergaray having to interfere. Angelino Florin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd minute of the match Jonatan Hernandez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mauro Vergaray skillfully saved the ball. Mauro Vergaray made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernabe Henrico in the 23rd minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Robustiano Arias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cienaguita FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hortensia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cienaguita FC's Robustiano Arias got a free kick in the 30th minute. The referee gave Cienaguita FC a penalty, 33 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Aureliano Oxel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hortensia's Daniel Estefan. 0-1. After 42 played minutes Cienaguita FC got a freekick which was hit by Israel Bide. Bernabe Henrico received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mauro Vergaray came out and tried to block the shot, but Bernabe Henrico slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelino Florin was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Florin in the 53rd minute of play forced Hortensia's goalkeeper Daniel Estefan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelino Florin in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Daniel Estefan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the game, Hortensia's Domingo Oriol nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mauro Vergaray made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 63rd minute, Hortensia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Serafin Intxixu fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Angelino Florin in the 66th minute of play forced Hortensia's goalkeeper Daniel Estefan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serafin Intxixu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Daniel Estefan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mauro Vergaray showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingo Oriol, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Daniel Estefan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Florin in the 89th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Daniel Estefan successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cienaguita FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hortensia.
