After 5 minutes, Alberto Montrell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Lorenzo de Almagro and the Xeneizes by Sergio players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes San Lorenzo de Almagro got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Montrell. Florencio Isadore might have been able to make a better finish in the 9th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Elizardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florencio Isadore ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo de Almagro's Delmar Gaitano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fausto Hermon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Delmar Gaitano managed to get in a good position for a shot. San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters rose to their feet, but Delmar Gaitano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fausto Hermon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Florencio Isadore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute Guillermo Silviano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fausto Hermon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Elizardo had great luck who in the 22ndth minute grab hold of the ball when Florencio Isadore from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Florencio Isadore managed to get in a good position for a shot. Xeneizes by Sergio's supporters rose to their feet, but Florencio Isadore was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Elizardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Florencio Isadore came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Xeneizes by Sergio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Isadore couldn't finish the play. Alejandro Bikendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Elizardo having to interfere. Florencio Isadore's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Abel Elizardo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Norberto Gumaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Delmar Gaitano got free with Fausto Hermon in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alejandro Bikendi might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Abel Elizardo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alejandro Bikendi ran back to his position shaking his head. Xeneizes by Sergio's Florencio Isadore got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guillermo Silviano might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fausto Hermon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guillermo Silviano ran back to his position shaking his head. Delmar Gaitano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Hermon having to interfere. Xeneizes by Sergio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Guillermo Silviano scored to the left of an out of position Fausto Hermon, making the score, 0-1. Guillermo Silviano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xeneizes by Sergio's Fausto Hermon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guillermo Silviano in the 96th minute of play. The San Lorenzo de Almagro players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
