Modesto Atarratze blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jairo Formerio having to make a save. Fulgencio Gonsalvo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Amato, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Jonas Bartoli charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonas Bartoli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st minute, one of Club Atlético River Plate:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atlético River Plate. The referee gave Orosmayo AFC a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Baldomiro Celio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atlético River Plate's Fulgencio Gonsalvo. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético River Plate's Jaime Toli got a free kick in the 29th minute. The supporters of Orosmayo AFC booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Toli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Orosmayo AFC's Orlando Amato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fulgencio Gonsalvo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 32 played minutes Club Atlético River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Toli. Club Atlético River Plate's Fulgencio Gonsalvo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Amato in the 35th minute of play. Orlando Amato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Cordario received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Fulgencio Gonsalvo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fulgencio Gonsalvo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Amato in the 42nd minute of play. When Moises Cordario came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Orosmayo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Cordario couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the game, Rigoberto Dei was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Orosmayo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético River Plate the free kick. Rigoberto Dei kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moises Cordario was the one to do the kick off. Jairo Formerio came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético River Plate's Modesto Atarratze. But to his dismay, Modesto Atarratze quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Julio Dunixi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the game, Julio Dunixi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jairo Formerio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Igor Bernad fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético River Plate's protests and gave Igor Bernad a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Orosmayo AFC booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Bernad didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Orosmayo AFC's Baldomiro Celio in action when he in the 69th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The supporters of Orosmayo AFC booed when Club Atlético River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Toli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Amato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fulgencio Gonsalvo having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Orosmayo AFC's Orlando Amato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fulgencio Gonsalvo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Orosmayo AFC's Jairo Formerio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julio Dunixi in the 83rd minute of play. In the 86th minute Moises Cordario shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fulgencio Gonsalvo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marciano Baumar hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Orosmayo AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
